This easy to make recipe is great for regulating oily skin. The essential oils are cleansing and astringent while the oats are soothing and gentle. Buttermilk is a soothing astringent for acne-prone skin.

    Blending Procedure:

    1. Measure the oats into a bowl and set aside.

    2. Combine the buttermilk and egg white and stir vigorously to incorporate.

    3. Add the buttermilk and egg white mixture to the oats and stir until a smooth paste forms. If the mixture is too runny to apply to the skin without slipping off, add a few more oats to absorb some of the liquid. If the mixture is too thick to apply easily to the skin, add a bit more liquid to smooth it out.

    4. Once the mixture is smooth, add the essential oils and stir to combine. To use, smooth a layer of mask over clean face and neck. Rest for 10-15 minutes. Avoid eye areas. If your skin is especially sensitive, omit the essential oils. Rinse well with warm water and pat excess water from face and neck. Follow with toner and moisturizer.

    5. The shelf life of this product is necessarily limited by the fresh ingredients. It should be used immediately after it is made.
